ENTROPY 2023

ENTROPY is a series of twentyfour images, created to be displayed as eight triptychs.

The inspiration for Entropy is the Pre-Raphaelite painting of Ophelia by John Everatt Millais in 1851/2, created in response to Shakespeare's play Hamlet. The flowers symbolise beauty, fragility, and the nature of our transient existence.

ENTROPY captures the transformation of the natural elements, realigned through random technological intervention, in order to create unexpected symmetries and patterns, leading to a colourful cascade of new imagery.
The central image to each triptych is the original photograph.
The image to the right of it is the same image which has undergone random realignment of the file contents by computer software.
The first image to the left is the composite of these two images.

The series ENTROPY explores the unexpected outcomes and random nature within natural and technological environment.
